Yachimun no Sato

“Yachimun” is a Japanese word for “ceramics” representing pottery in general. Many of them are thick and tend to be a little heavy compared to other pottery. Yomitan Village has “Yachimun no Sato” where 19 pottery workshops gather.

There is no doubt that you can peek into each workshop and find your favorite vessel.

Antique shops

アンティークショップ

Okinawa is the best place to find American antiques, vintage furniture and novelty goods. Okinawa has been strongly affected by American culture and these two cultures are now living side by side. You will be surprised how many antique shops are there and how big the selections are.

But, you cannot usually find the shops in guide books.
You do not have to worry. We will show you our recommended shops.

Curios

You may find something rare and culturally valued, which you can hardly find in the main island of Japan, such as an old item from the Rryukyu Dynasty etc.

We will take you to our recommended curio shops.
